State of Play Update
Posted:
Another busy week in the Dark Emblem universe! We are gearing up for our Testnet deployment and a lot has been going on
behind the scenes. We'll be using these State of Play Update blog posts to share all of the
updates that have been happening, including the technical aspects.
π State of Play Blog
This past week we published this blog website where we will post game updates, card spotlights, and this State of Play blog
series to keep everyone informed on how Dark Emblem is progressing. We will share all the blog posts on our Twitter and our Discord,
so don't forget to join us there!
π Documentation
Dark Emblem NFTs will allow you to more than just collect cards β you will be able to buy different packs, buy promo cards from
auctions, create your own auctions, and interact with your cards all via the WAX Blockchain.
With so much to do with your Dark Emblem NFTs, we will no doubt need to document how a lot of this functionality works. This blog
has a Docs section that we are filling out with content. Stay tuned for more!
$ Coin Symbols
Dark Emblem will consist of two coins: an ERC20 token and an ERC721 token. The NFT cards that you can collect and use on our
Dapp are ERC721 Non-fungible Tokens, but we are also introducing an ERC20 token that you can buy and earn that you
can use to exchange for Dark Emblem packs.
To make it easier to tell the difference, we are tentitively naming the tokens:
- $DREM - The ERC20 token that you earn by owning cards.
- $DECK - The ERC721 NFT cards that you collect by opening packs.
I'll be posting a following blog post on $DREM and how it works soon. Feel free to discuss the names on our Discord.
π§ Prepping for the Testnet
As part of the prep for our testnet deployment, we are getting our ducks in a row with respect to Etherscan, contract verification,
and contract security.
We've been combing through our contract with different tools to make sure we are keeping up-to-date with all the best
practices.
Remember to join our Discord to get Early Supporter perks, like being part of the testnet release!
NFT Card Changes
Some minor card changes from the technical side:
- Some Heros will have their stats scaled. So while the full range of values for Attack, Defense, Agility and Luck is 0 to 31, some cards like the Slime Hero will have their stats scaled between 0 to 20 (as an example). This will make some Heros more valuable than others.
- Ascending 2 Heros will now guarentee slightly better traits for the newly created Hero. The new Hero will still have a mix of the traits of its parents, but those traits will be slightly enhanced.
I have contacted a few artists who are working on some new artwork for our cards as well!
π Looking Forward
It's been an exciting week, and we are working towards having a lot done for out testnet trial. After our successful
testnet, you can look forward to additional rewards for being an Early Supporter.
