The Dark Emblem team has been busy this last week working on card art, figuring out the best price points for cards, and getting ready for the Testnet.

Testnet Preperations

We are making sure the webapp for the testnet clearly shows a label the Dapp with a testnet warning. We don't want people accidentally using mainnet wallets on the testnet. We also have a badge that will tell you exactly which wallet address you are using in the testnet as well.

Fixing Prices and Cards

A lot of internal discussions were held to find the balance between how many cards are in the ecosystem and how much cards and packs cost.
The first stage of this was to dramatically improve how much gas our Buy Pack, Ascend, and Transmogrify contract functions cost to run. We brainstormed and came up with a way to cut gas to a third of what it was.
We also refactored a ton of contract code to bring down the gas costs of buying a pack even more. We are very comfortable with the gas costs of the contract functions now.
The second half of this was how much packs cost. We settled on the following:
  • [OUTDATED] All packs will cost 0.02 ETH a pack and will mint 3 NFTs a pack.
  • Buying 2+ packs will add a minor stat boost to all cards minted.
  • Buying 5 packs will add a major stat boost to all cards minted.
You can only buy a max of 5 packs at a time. You can read more about buying packs on our docs. You can also read more about stat boosts, too.

Claiming Rewards

We've changed how we plan to distribute $DREM. Our original plan was to distribute $DREM at the start of a season, however we found that as the number of cards and card holders grew, this would not be feasible. We've changed this to a "pull" mechanism. Every card owner can claim $DREM once per season.
Every 20 cards you own will distribute 1 $DREM to you. Cards are marked once they are used to claim $DREM.

Documentation

We've added new pages to our documentation site to cover $DREM, buying packs, and how stat boosts work.

Roadmap

We've added a few items to our Roadmap, including Multisig, IPFS, and our online card game.
