State of Play Update January 31
Posted:
It's been a while since the last State of Play Update blog post, but that's because
I've been busy migrating the entire contract, app, and card generation system over
to the WAX blockchain.
Testnet Countdown
You may have noticed, but we added a testnet countdown timer to the Dark Emblem website.
Anyone who participates in the testnet will get DREM when the contracts go live.
- Early Supporters will get 10 $DREM on release
- Testnet users will get 5 $DREM on release
New Cards
We added a bunch of new cards to round out the GEN0 season. We will create follow up blog posts to feature each card type.
Core Functionality
All the core functionality hase been migrated over to the new dapp, including Ascending cards, Transmogrifying cards, viewing cards, buying packs, opening packs, and getting notifications.
The WAX protocol is also much faster than the Ethereum equivalent, so expect transactions to feel almost instant.
WAX Benefits
With the new WAX based protocol, I opted to use AtomicAssets. If you are familiar with WAX, you will be accustomed to staking RAM (think ETH gas fees) to purchase NFTs. With Dark Emblem using AtomicAssets you do not have to worry about staking RAM. Our contract auto-stakes RAM for our NFTs.
You will see throughout the Dark Emblem dapp links to AtomicHub for auctions, sales, and viewing you assets.
Open Source
Since I have abandoned using the Ethereum protocol for Dark Emblem for the foreseeable future, I have open sourced the Ethereum contracts. You can view them
on the Dark Emblem github account. Look forward to future open source projects there.
Other Changes
- We updated the whitepaper. The official whitepaper can now be found on our website.
- We updated the roadmap. The official roadmap can now be found on our website.
